The Institute's postgraduate and seminars students have realized several field trips to many regions of the country in order assess the needs and to be directly informed by the local agents on the current problems facing their regional development.
Postgraduate Masters Program in regional Development
This academic program was established by the Institute in 1975 and ran regularly under its supervision until the academic year 1993-1994. Nowadays, after being properly modified, it is offered as a postgraduate program by the Department of Urban and Regional Development of the Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, in collaboration with the RDI.
The graduates -holding a RDI's Master's degree- in conjunction with their different interdisciplinary undergraduate backgrounds in sciences, hold today several senior positions, in both the public and private sectors, and are members of the Economic Chamber of Greece. Their total number currently exceeds five hundred.
The Institute, supported by the European Community Funds, has organized a large number of seminars for postgraduates with special interest in the fields of:
- Regional Development and Administration
- Cultural Development and Administration
- Administrative and Economic Decentralization
- Management of Natural and Energy Resources
